Our 2025 Road Trip Collection and Why It Was Created

Our 2025 Road Trip Collection and Why It Was Created

Every collection begins with a spark. For the 2025 Road Trip Collection, it wasn’t a distant journey but something closer to home. From our studio window in Bali, we often watch people walking by carrying offerings, dressed for ceremonies, or simply heading to the market. That quiet rhythm of movement, of people always on their way somewhere, became the seed for this collection.

Road trips hold that same spirit: discovery, transition, the small adventures that happen between one stop and the next. We wanted to capture that feeling in pieces that kids can wear with ease whether they’re sitting in the backseat with snacks, running barefoot at a rest stop, or tumbling into bed after a long day on the road. Clothes that feel like part of the journey, not something to fuss over.

Designing for Movement and Flexibility

This collection reflects our belief that good design should bend and flex with life. We leaned into fabrics and silhouettes that invite kids to move, explore, and rest without restriction. Some pieces are new, while others are familiar favorites reimagined in fresh tones, a way to carry the essence of past summers forward while staying open to new adventures.

Take the Camp Check Patchwork Pants, for example. They’re stitched with panels of naturally dyed fabrics, each patch carrying its own subtle variation. More than just playful, this patchwork speaks to the layered nature of travel itself, a mix of moments, textures, and places pieced together. The pants slip easily into any outfit, paired with a cotton tee, a sleeveless top, or even layered under crochet. They’re a reminder that versatility is freedom.

Then there’s the Rose Sleeveless Top, designed to be a reliable companion on warm days. It’s simple, comfortable, and easy to wear, just as good on its own as it is tucked into pants or skirts. For parents, it’s the kind of piece that cuts through decision fatigue: grab it, pair it with anything, and you’re ready to go.

And because no road trip is complete without something to shield you from the sun, we brought in the Marlo House Appliqué Crochet Hat. Hand-stitched with detail and warmth, it carries the soul of crochet that’s always been central to our brand. It’s playful, wearable, and the kind of item kids forget they’re even wearing until someone points out how special it looks.

Bringing Back the Pieces We Love

Some favorites return in new colors, carrying the essence of previous collections into this one. The Santi Crochet Running Top, now in vibrant shades of yellow, grey, and purple, is one of those pieces. Originally born from the 2024 Summer Play Collection, it has quickly become a staple — the kind of top children reach for without thinking. The new palette adds fresh energy compared to the previous season’s colors — brighter, bolder tones that feel like sunshine on the road.

Why This Collection Matters

We didn’t set out to design clothes for a single season. We set out to create a rhythm — a wardrobe that can be layered, repeated, and lived in across journeys. The Road Trip Collection is about that blend of practicality and soul: breathable fabrics, natural dyes, handmade touches, and silhouettes that give children space to be themselves.

In the end, the inspiration may have started with what we saw outside our window in Bali, but it grew into something universal. Movement, transition, adventure — that’s the heart of this collection. And just like any road trip, the joy is in how the pieces carry you from one moment to the next.
