How Our Island Clothes Translate Into Different Seasons
Nikas Got Soul began with a simple idea: to make breathable, beautiful resort wear for kids. Clothes that were easy to wear, easy to wash, and felt right at home under the sun. Every piece was designed with island life in mind — loose fits, natural fabrics, and silhouettes that let kids move, play, and rest without fuss.
From the very beginning, layering was at the heart of our design process. In the 2024 photoshoots, you could already see dresses over pants, swimsuits under sweatshirts, crochet skirts with tights — simple combinations that gave each piece longer life. June’s intention was clear: to design resort clothes that didn’t belong only to one season, but that could adapt with layering as children moved through different climates and rhythms.
As the clothes began to travel — to Europe, to Korea, to Australia — families picked up on that intention and made it their own. They layered naturally, combining pieces in new ways and showing us how versatile they could be. What started in the studio became even more alive in the hands of the community.
This wasn’t a trend decision. It was a reflection of how real kids live in their clothes. They mix, they match, they don’t think twice. And because kids grow fast, no one wants to build four separate wardrobes for four different seasons. It makes more sense — for your wallet, your closet, and the planet — to choose pieces that stretch a little further.
That’s how we approach layering at Nikas Got Soul. Not as a styling trick, but as a way to give each garment more life. The materials (100% cotton, bamboo, and soft blends) breathe in the heat but hold up under jackets. The cuts are loose enough to pull over base layers. And most importantly, the pieces invite creativity — for the child and the parent.
So while we’ll always be a resort brand at heart, layering has been central to our design philosophy from the start. Good design doesn’t stop at the season. It adapts, it travels, and it stays with you longer.
